PIONEER CDJ-2000NXS2 & DJM-900NXS2 CHECKLIST
POWERING UP SEQUENCE
- Power on CDJs(power button on rear of each unit)
- Wait for "PIONEER DJ" logo and boot sequence to complete
 
 - Power on DJM-900NXS2 Mixer(power switch on rear)
- Wait for lights to initialize
 
 - Power on Pioneer XPRS12 Speakers(switches on rear)
- ALWAYS turn on speakers LAST to avoid power-on pops
 
 
SETUP CHECKLIST
- Verify Signal Routing:
- CDJ-1 connected to mixer Channel 1
 - CDJ-2 connected to mixer Channel 2
 
 - Set Input Selectors:
- Channel 1: Set to "CD/LINE" position
 - Channel 2: Set to "CD/LINE" position
 
 - Configure Faders:
- Set channel faders to appropriate level (3/4 position)
 - CROSS-FADER OPTION A - Disable:
- Set switch to "THRU" position
 
 - CROSS-FADER OPTION B - Enable:
- Set switch to "×" position
 - Channel 1 assign switch to "A"
 - Channel 2 assign switch to "B"
 
 
 - Set Master Level:
- MASTER knob to 12 o'clock position
 - Monitor levels - avoid red lights on meter
 
 
MEDIA & PLAYBACK
- Load USB Media:
- Insert USB drive into port
 - Wait for "USB connecting" message to disappear
 - Press "USB" button to access content
 
 - Select Jog Mode:
- VINYL mode (for scratching) OR
 - CDJ mode (for pitch bending only)
 
 - Load Tracks:
- Navigate with rotary selector
 - Press selector or LOAD button to load track
 - Press PLAY/PAUSE to begin
 - Adjust channel TRIM for proper levels
 
 
ENDING YOUR SESSION
- Safe USB Removal - CRITICAL:
- Hold USB STOP button for 5 seconds
 - Wait for button to flash and "USB STOP" to appear
 - Only then remove USB drive
 
 - Power Down Sequence:
- Turn off speakers first
 - Power down CDJs
 - Turn off mixer last
 
 
QUICK TROUBLESHOOTING
NO SOUND? CHECK:
- Input selectors on correct source
 - Channel faders and master fader up
 - MASTER CUE not the only thing selected
 - Headphone connections
 
DISTORTED SOUND? CHECK:
- Reduce TRIM/GAIN controls
 - Lower MASTER level if showing red
 - Check EQ settings aren't boosting too much
 
AFTER SESSION
- Return all equipment to starting positions
 - Remove all USB drives properly
 - Wipe down equipment if needed
 - Report any issues to Grove Studios staff
 
REMEMBER: HOLD USB STOP BUTTON FOR 5 SECONDS BEFORE REMOVING USB!
