The DJ Studio has an IK Multimedia iRig Stream on the DJ desk next to the CDJs. It sends the mixer's sound straight into your phone, so your stream gets clean audio instead of whatever your phone's mic hears. You stream with your own phone and your own app (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, and so on).
What to bring
- Your phone, fully charged. The iRig Stream doesn't charge your phone while you stream, so bring a power bank for long sets.
- A cable to connect your phone to the iRig Stream (Lightning or USB-C). We usually keep both in the room, but cables sometimes go missing, so we recommend bringing your own.
- A tripod or phone holder if you want video. There's a tripod in the room, but if you stream often, bring your own in case it's missing.
Set up
- The iRig Stream is already connected to the DJM-900NXS2 mixer. Please don't unplug it from the mixer.
- Connect your phone to the iRig Stream with your cable.
- Open your streaming app. Your phone should switch to the iRig Stream for sound on its own.
- Play a track and set the iRig Stream's input level so it's loud but not distorted. Do a private test stream or a short video, then listen back.
Go live
- Start your stream in the app as usual. Everything coming out of the mixer goes out on the stream.
- Want to talk to your viewers? Use the Sennheiser mic. It goes through the mixer, so your voice is on the stream too.
When you're done
- End your stream and unplug your phone.
- Leave the iRig Stream connected to the mixer, and leave any studio cables and the tripod in the room for the next guest.
Things to know
- Some apps, like Instagram, may mute or block copyrighted music during a live stream. That's up to the platform, not us.
- Only stream content that's yours, or that you have permission to share. See Schedule C of our Terms & Conditions.
Troubleshooting
- No sound on the stream: unplug your phone and plug it back in, then close and reopen your app. Check that the iRig Stream's input level is up and the mixer's master output is up.
- Distorted or too loud: turn down the iRig Stream's input level, or the mixer's master output.
- Phone isn't detected: try a different cable. Some cheap cables only charge and don't carry data.
